State Division warns immigrants in opposition to praising Kirk's dying

A prime State Division official on Thursday warned “foreigners” within the U.S. in opposition to praising the dying of Charlie Kirk, the conservative influencer who was shot and killed at an occasion in Utah on Wednesday. 

“In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau mentioned in a Thursday morning put up on the social platform X. 

“I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action,” Landau added. “Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that the @StateDept can protect the American people.” 

Since President Trump’s return to the White Home, the administration has revoked greater than 6,000 scholar visas, the State Division mentioned final month. Many of the visas have been revoked over allegations or fees associated to assault, DUI, housebreaking and help for terrorism.

The administration has focused worldwide college students collaborating in pro-Palestinian campus protests, claiming they’re a menace to nationwide safety. Some college students have challenged deportation proceedings.

Each Republican and Democratic lawmakers have condemned political violence after Wednesday’s killing of Kirk at Utah Valley College.

The manhunt for the suspect is ongoing. The FBI is providing as much as $100,000 for info resulting in the arrest of the suspect. The FBI’s Salt Lake Metropolis workplace launched images of an individual of curiosity. 

Authorities mentioned they’ve recovered the rifle believed to have been used to kill Kirk.
