Roberto Cavalli ignites Milan runway with fiery creations impressed by historical Pompeii

MILAN (AP) — Fausto Puglisi provided a grand tour of Pompeii in his newest assortment for Roberto Cavalli introduced Thursday throughout Milan Vogue Week.

The opening look of fiery devore velvet giving method to silver and gold superbly represented the injury wrought by Vesuvius when it rained volcanic ash on the traditional metropolis in 79 AD. Town’s famed floral frescoes appeared on silky off-shoulder tunics and velvet minidresses, whereas ensembles had been printed with pale marble patterns.

“I believe it is a magic place,’’ said Puglisi, the brand’s creative director. “Through the eruption everything was destroyed but we are able to contemplate and admire the beauty of the Roman empire in Pompeii.””

The silhouettes superior from no-nonsense denim and shirt daywear in saturated prints, to horny animal print slip attire worn with matching faux fur, and flowing night robes with molten lava prints.

The autumn-winter assortment’s outerwear included lush faux fur, ubiquitous on Milan runways this season, and luxe black leather-based trenches with smoky charcoal accents — maybe smudges of the traditional metropolis’s ashes.
