PHOTOS: Late night time storms introduced flooding to northeast Clark County

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — About an hour from Las Vegas, late-night storms in Moapa Valley introduced floods to the world, closing some roads and inflicting a flash flood warning for the early morning hours.

The Nationwide Climate Service issued a flash flood warning shortly earlier than 3 a.m. for areas in northeastern Clark County after radar confirmed thunderstorms producing heavy rain as much as 1.5 inches.

The warning was issued for Overton, Moapa City, Moapa Valley, Valley of Fireplace, Echo Bay Campground, Echo Bay, Overton Seashore, and Logandale. The warning lasted till 4:30 a.m.

In line with the Nationwide Climate Service, one rain gauge in Moapa Valley recorded an inch of rain in ten minutes in a single day.

At round 5 a.m., the LVMPD Northeast Residents Fb web page issued an alert for these dwelling within the space that Moapa Valley Boulevard, often known as State Route 169, was flooded on the Overton Wash. The submit urged drivers to make use of an alternate route.
