LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — For 15 years, Vegas PBS has gone past tv programming with its Workforce Coaching and Financial Growth program. Saturday, it acknowledged 164 graduates taking the subsequent steps of their careers.
The web college prepares individuals for all types of careers, with in style choices together with medical assistants, IT and entrepreneurship. Asia Crowfield, who walked throughout the stage Saturday, is now a medical assistant and entrepreneur, working a lemonade enterprise together with her daughter.
“I was working in the restaurant industry as a mom, and just trying to figure out myself what I wanted to do, how I wanted to navigate my way through the world,” Crowfield stated. “Now that all my kids are in school, I’m ready to put my foot back in, and this was the perfect stepping stone for me to get back into the workforce and do something that matters. It’s important to help my community in the medical field.”

Crowfield’s story was considered one of many within the room Saturday. Folks of all completely different ages and backgrounds had been united by a blue commencement cap and the trail to a brand new profession.
“I didn’t know what to expect today when I got here, and just seeing all these different faces, smiling, beautiful, feeling, proud of themselves,” Crowfield stated. “The energy in here is very high today, so I’m so excited for everyone.”
Debra Solt, director of Workforce Coaching and Financial Growth for Vegas PBS created this system to assist individuals enter the workforce after the Nice Recession. She stated with this system being on-line, it is a classroom of 1, class is rarely cancelled and you can begin tomorrow.
“We’re here to help our community, and we’re here to help grow our community,” Solt stated.
