On-line Nevada DMV automobile transactions seeing exercise

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Nevada DMV is hoping to scale back ready occasions by transferring all automobile transactions on-line.

Ross McIntire was on the Flamingo DMV location Tuesday to register a automotive from a unique state in Nevada.

“It’s about time they did it online,” McIntire stated. “So many of the things that you do at the DMV, why do you need to be in person?”

He’s prepared for the DVM’s digital age.

“There was an error on my vehicle’s title transfer, so I’m gonna have to get that corrected, but I can fix everything from there online and then just come in and get the new plates,” McIntire stated.

His state of affairs is one instance of what the DMV is hoping to realize.

Hailey Foster, the Nevada DMV’s public info officer, stated nearly each automobile service might be began on-line.

“Whether you’re registering a new car, renewing your registration, getting a movement permit, we’re kind of redirecting the process of how that would normally be done,” Foster stated. “So hopefully we’ll start seeing a little bit less vehicle transactions in person.”

She says the transfer opens up house for individuals who want an in-person appointment for driver’s licenses or ID playing cards.

“We’re really just wanting people to save their time and not spend a couple hours in here when you could be spending a couple minutes,” Foster stated.
