Senator Dina Titus, a Democrat, mentioned public lands have by no means been extra threatened than now.

“It’s really rough out there, and we have unfortunately gone from the luxury of being on the offense, where we are creating and protecting monuments and public lands, to being on the defense,” she mentioned. “They will do everything they can to sell off our public lands. To take away the protections of our public lands to drill and cut forests on our public lands.”

“We’ve proven that people power can protect rivers, mountains, and deserts,” mentioned Barbara Hartzeill, with Native Voters Alliance Nevada. She was one of many audio system. (KLAS)

“When I talk about public lands, I’m not talking about abstract green spaces on a map. I’m talking about places where families teach their children to fish, where elders pass down their stories, where generations have gathered food, water, and medicine,” Barbara Hartzeill, govt director of Native Voters Alliance Nevada, mentioned.

Nevada has 48 million acres of public land. The Bureau of Land Administration manages most of that land.
