LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person accused of taking his sufferer’s gun and killing him with it inside a Las Vegas enterprise beforehand served jail time for threatening a restaurant worker with a knife, paperwork stated.
Kyle Capucci, 36, who police described as unhoused, faces a cost of open homicide with a lethal weapon within the demise of David Carcamo, 21.
On Friday, Could 23, Capucci allegedly shot Carmaco with Carmaco’s gun inside an AutoZone retailer on Charleston Boulevard close to Maryland Parkway, paperwork stated. Carmaco was open carrying the firearm on his hip.
“Witnesses informed officers David was shot by Kyle, who arrived at the AutoZone moments before the shooting and was acting erratic,” police wrote in courtroom paperwork. “Kyle was approached by David and an AutoZone employee who asked if Kyle was OK. David was in possession of a firearm, which he was open carrying on his person near his waistband. Almost immediately after David approached Kyle, Kyle lunged towards David and disarmed him, taking his firearm from his person.”
Police later discovered Capucci operating close to the taking pictures scene, they stated, including he was not carrying pants or sneakers.
Detectives interviewed Capucci, who advised them he “had to” shoot Carmaco within the head, police stated.
In 2022, Capucci pleaded responsible to an tried theft cost after police stated he threatened a restaurant worker with a knife, paperwork stated. As a part of the plea settlement, prosecutors didn’t oppose Capucci getting into drug courtroom and serving probation.
