LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Sphere is about to debut two new “Sphere Experiences,” one primarily based on a beloved basic movement image.
The rumors have been true. Sphere Leisure Co. introduced Friday that The Wizard of Oz at Sphere would be the subsequent movie to take to the Sphere display. The collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, Google, and Magnopus will improve the unique 1939 movie to benefit from Sphere’s distinctive capabilities.
“The creative team behind The Wizard of Oz at Sphere includes Academy Award and Emmy-nominated producer Jane Rosenthal (The Irishman); Academy Award-winning visual effects specialist Ben Grossmann (Hugo); Academy Award-winning editor Jennifer Lame (Oppenheimer); and Creative Director Zack Winokur (Little Island),” officers from Sphere Leisure Co. stated.
The “fully immersive” Wizard of Oz expertise will debut on Aug. 28.

A second mission, entitled “From The Edge,” options “Free Solo” rock climber Alex Honnold alongside free diver Alenka Artnik, skier Markus Eder, BASE jumper Katie Hansen Lajeunesse, and surfer Kai Lenny taking the viewers inside their high-stakes world of utmost sports activities.
The brand new expertise leverages Sphere Leisure Co.’s Massive Sky digital camera expertise, as highlighted in June by 8 Information Now, to supply pictures meant for Sphere’s distinctive stage. Filming for “From the Edge” is in progress worldwide in areas akin to Jordan, Dubai, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Austin, Maui, and Las Vegas.
