Las Vegas police arrest 42 folks on DUI fees over vacation weekend

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Police within the Las Vegas valley made greater than 40 DUI arrests over the Labor Day vacation weekend.

Officers from each space command within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division’s jurisdiction, LVMPD site visitors, the Boulder Metropolis Police Division, and the Nevada State Police labored collectively over the weekend in what they referred to as a DUI Tremendous Blitz.

The blitz was performed by these departments over the vacation weekend, from Saturday, Aug. 30 to Monday, Sept. 1, which resulted in over 900 site visitors stops and 40 arrests.

Based on the LMVPD, officers made 955 site visitors stops, 631 citations, 42 DUI arrests, and eight different arrests throughout the blitz.

Police didn’t specify what the eight arrests have been, however did add that one arrest resulted in a recovered firearm.

“Remember, there are too many safe options to drive impaired!” the LVMPD stated.
