Las Vegas Metropolis Council seems to fill interim councilmember following Seaman's resignation

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas Metropolis Council will appoint an interim councilmember to fill the rest of former Councilwoman Victoria Seaman’s time period following her resignation to take a federal place.

Seaman, a Republican, goes to work for the U.S. Division of Well being and Human Companies Workplace of Intergovernmental & Exterior Affairs. She would be the director of the Denver Regional Workplace.

Seaman served six years as a Las Vegas metropolis councilwoman for Ward 2. Her council time period was on account of finish in 2026.

Now, the council seeks to nominate an interim Ward 2 Councilmember. The time period will run by both July or December 2026, relying on the 2026 main election.

Candidates should stay in Ward 2 and be a certified elector, which means registered or eligible to vote. They have to additionally conform to “acknowledge on the public record that the appointment is temporary and agree not to seek election to the position in the municipal election in 2026.”
