Las Vegas-area medical college celebrates historic inaugural ceremony

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A historic milestone befell for Las Vegas’ latest medical college because it welcomed its first-ever class of 64 future physicians.

On Friday, the scholars obtained their first white coats in the course of the college’s inaugural ceremony.

The scholars are a part of the Class of 2029, with college students ranging in age from 21 to 33 and averaging 24 years outdated. The scholars come from 14 totally different states, with the biggest contingents coming from California and Nevada.

“Having 23% of our inaugural class comprised of Nevada residents demonstrates our mission to develop homegrown healthcare leaders who understand the unique needs of our communities,” Pedro “Joe” Greer, Jr., MD, founding dean of Roseman College Faculty of Drugs mentioned.

The White Coat Ceremony is a cherished custom in medical schooling, symbolizing college students’ formal entry into the medical occupation. Every pupil obtained each a white coat and stethoscope, instruments that may accompany them all through their medical careers as they work to diagnose, deal with, and heal sufferers.
