Lacking pilot’s aircraft present in rural Nevada; pilot's whereabouts stay unknown

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Crews discovered a aircraft belonging to a pilot lacking since Jan. 2 on Sunday in rural Nye County, officers mentioned.

Michael Martin’s lacking aircraft was found close to Mount Jefferson, roughly 4 hours away from the Las Vegas Strip, Scott Lewis, Nye County’s director of emergency administration, mentioned. The mountain is roughly 50 miles from Tonopah.

Martin vanished after departing the North Las Vegas airport. Rescue crews have looked for him and the plane since Jan. 5.

Authorities had no info Sunday about Martin’s whereabouts or situation.
