LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A jury in southern Nevada awarded over 60 victims $3.8 billion on Friday in a lawsuit towards Las Vegas-based firm Actual Water.

The now-bankrupt firm’s product was linked to liver diseases and autoimmune ailments.

In the latest case, a jury discovered Actual Water responsible for product defects, and reckless disregard for shopper security.

“Real Water marketed itself as a healthy product, but in reality, it was poisoning people. This verdict sends a clear message—companies that put profits over people will face the full force of justice,” Robert Eglet, the lead lawyer, mentioned.

In June 2021, the FDA introduced that Actual Water had agreed to stop operations till they may adjust to federal rules.

In August 2021, the corporate formally filed for Chapter 7 chapter. In June 2024, a jury awarded $3 billion in damages to eight different Las Vegas residents who sued Actual Water. In October 2023, a $228 million settlement was additionally reached, and in October 2024, $5.2 billion was awarded to fifteen plaintiffs.
