LONDON (AP) — British writer Jilly Cooper, identified for her bestselling risqué novels together with “Rivals” and “Riders,” has died at age 88, her agent and household mentioned Monday.

An announcement from her household mentioned that the writer’s “unexpected death has come as a complete shock.”
