Illinois, Chicago sue to dam Nationwide Guard deployment

Illinois and Chicago on Monday sued to dam President Trump’s deployment of Nationwide Guard troops to town, after the administration mobilized 400 troops from Texas. 

A Division of Protection memorandum filed Sunday in Oregon’s lawsuit preventing Trump’s efforts to deploy troops there revealed that the president directed 400 federalized Texas Nationwide Guard members to be despatched to Chicago, Portland and probably different areas “where needed.”
