LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A historic piece of southern Nevada’s historical past was moved into place on the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
On Tuesday a 30-ton locomotive, initially used within the building of the Hoover Dam within the Thirties, was fastidiously lifted by crane and relocated to its everlasting show within the museum.
Davenport Locomotive Works constructed the locomotive in 1936. Its gasoline-powered engine performed a vital position in transporting supplies for the Hoover Dam between 1936 and 1963. Now, it’s being preserved for future generations to understand as a part of the museum’s upcoming customer heart.
