Gas spill at Harry Reid Airport contained, flights unaffected

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Hearth crews responded to Harry Reid Worldwide Airport Saturday morning after a gas overflow involving as much as 100 gallons, officers mentioned.

In line with the Mixed Communications Middle, dispatchers obtained a name simply after 7 a.m. reporting 30 to 100 gallons of Jet A gas overflowing from the highest of an above-ground tank.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered the spill inside a delegated retention basin.

Officers later confirmed that roughly 5,000 gallons of gas had collected within the basin, stopping any unfold past the fast space. Crews pulled precautionary hose strains, however no hearth or hazardous publicity occurred.

All airport staff within the space have been accounted for.

In whole, 4 engines, two ladder vans, three ARFF models, two hazmat groups, 4 rescues, two chief officers, and a personal ambulance responded to the scene. No accidents have been reported, and airport operations, together with flights, weren’t interrupted.
