Fontainebleau Las Vegas staff vote to ratify new Culinary Union contract

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Tons of of Fontainebleau staff voted to ratify their new union contract, the Culinary Union introduced Monday evening.

The contract was ratified by a 99.6% vote in favor of the contract. The resort had a neutrality settlement with the union earlier than it opened in December 2023 which gave staff the proper to determine whether or not to hitch the union.

The union mentioned it was the very best contract ever that meets Las Vegas Strip requirements.

The Culinary Union posted to X welcoming the Fontainebleau staff to the union household.

“It’s finally happened. It’s a long time coming,” housekeeper Zachara Lewis mentioned in a video posted by the Union. “Housekeeping is a hard department and it’s very hard on our bodies so it’s glad that we are able to get paid what we deserve. The pay matches the work.”

This vote comes as Culinary Union staff at Virgin Accommodations Las Vegas proceed to strike over a brand new contract. As of Monday, they’ve been on strike for 46 days– the union’s longest strike in additional than twenty years.
