LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The School of Southern Nevada has made some waves on this planet of Junior School basketball.
The CSN Coyotes are one of many high scoring groups within the nation, averaging 96 factors per sport. On Jan. 22 they beat Neighborhood Christian School 158-68.
The workforce patterns its “run ‘n gun” model after the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels of the 80’s and early 90’s. Coaches Mike Lee and Che’ Jones are longtime Las Vegans who know these groups properly.
“A lot of teams just scout us,” Lee, a longtime highschool basketball coach in Las Vegas in his second 12 months with the Coyotes, mentioned. “They see that we get out in transition. Most definitely everybody should be able to take something from that (the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels), because those were the good days. They were running, running up and down the court, Runnin’ Rebels, as they say.”
The Coyotes play their video games on the fitness center within the Cheyenne Campus in North Las Vegas. The Coyotes play their video games within the Arizona Neighborhood School Athletic Convention (ACCAC) and with their 11-4 (6-2) document they’re in second place within the ACCAC Division 1 standings.
