LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Gasoline costs in Las Vegas shot up over the previous two weeks and the typical value is now at $4.01 per gallon, in keeping with a survey of fuel stations launched early Monday by GasBuddy.

The common value has surged 24 cents since Monday, Oct. 27, when it was $3.77. On-line gasoline financial savings platform GasBuddy’s survey of 649 stations within the Las Vegas space exhibits that the most affordable value accessible was $3.40 for a gallon of standard unleaded gasoline, and the best value was $4.59.

At $4.01, Las Vegas costs are nearly a full greenback — 98 cents — larger than the nationwide common.

The common value hasn’t been this excessive since June 3, 2024, when the typical was $4.11. That day, the nationwide common was $3.50.

Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum evaluation, cited refinery points on the West Coast. That is the place 90% of the fuel used within the Las Vegas space comes from.

“The national average price of gasoline edged higher last week, with the vast majority of states seeing prices climb,” De Haan stated.

“Refinery issues in the Great Lakes and West Coast have kept prices elevated, and gasoline inventory data from the government showed another large weekly drop in supplies, which has temporarily propped up prices. With thousands of flight cancellations ahead of Thanksgiving due to the FAA flight cuts, there could be slight shifts in gasoline demand, which may limit any near-term declines,” he stated.
