LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Eligible families in the Clark County School District may get up to $1,000 in transportation assistance for the upcoming school year.
CCSD’s new Open Enrollment Transportation Reimbursement program will provide eligible families with financial assistance to transport their children to 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star schools with open seats.
To qualify, parents must be zoned for a 1-or-2 Star school and enroll their children in a 3-Star or higher school through Open Enrollment. Eligible families must ensure their children have completed the Open Enrollment process by Friday, August 21, 2026.
“CCSD’s Open Enrollment program allows families to choose the school that works best for them,” said CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert. “Now, thanks to funding from our state legislators and the Governor, CCSD is able to provide eligible families with financial assistance to help transport their children to 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star schools that have open seats.”
Funding for the reimbursement program comes from a state grant resulting from the passage of Assembly Bill 533 in the 2025 Legislative Session. The transportation reimbursement program is currently a one-year program, as state funds are not secured for the 2027-2028 school year. Funds will be used this school year until grant funds are exhausted, according to CCSD.
To receive $500 at the end of each semester, totaling $1,000 for the school year, families must meet all of the following requirements:
Eligible families must be zoned for a CCSD school rated 1- or 2-stars for the 2024-2025 school year.
Fill out a form that collects their name and address and confirms that they have a financial need for funds to transport their students to their Open Enrollment school. The form may be found online.
Ensure their students are not chronically absent—meaning students cannot miss more than 10 excused or unexcused school days in one semester.
