Boulder Metropolis introduces new security guidelines for e-bikes, scooters

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A brand new security requirement for these utilizing e-bikes, e-scooters, and different types of leisure mobility is ready to start this week.

Boulder Metropolis Council accredited its personal ordinance making helmets obligatory for all minors on bicycles, electrical bicycles, electrical scooters, skates, toy autos, scooters, and skateboards.

Fines for violations are civil visitors infractions and are proposed at $150.00 forthe first violation, $250.00 for the second, and $600.00 for the third and subsequent violations. The ordinance additionally clarifies that oldsters are financially chargeable for tickets given to minors.

“The new requirements are intended to help parents keep their children safe,” Boulder CityManager Ned Thomas stated.
