Henderson councilwoman indicted on cost involving metropolis council colleague

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Clark County grand jury has indicted sitting Henderson Councilwoman Carrie Cox on a cost linked to a different councilwoman.

The panel voted Tuesday to cost Cox with one cost of monitoring or making an attempt to watch a non-public dialog, based on courtroom paperwork obtained Wednesday. Prosecutors announce grand jury indictments in the future after the panel votes.

The indictment alleges Cox “[monitored] or [recorded], or [attempted] to listen to, monitor or record,” conversations with Councilwoman Monica Larson and two different folks.

Voters elected Cox to her council seat in 2022. She represents Ward 3. Voters first elected Larson to her seat in 2024. She represents Ward 2.

Council members in Henderson run and function nonpartisan.

The cost is a Class D felony, which may carry jail time of 1-4 years and a fantastic.

It was not instantly clear when Cox would seem in courtroom for her preliminary arraignment.
