NV Power seeks to broaden buyer refunds after overcharging $17M+

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An error at Nevada’s largest utility firm has now ballooned into tens of thousands and thousands of {dollars} in refunds.

“My energy bill was almost $200 last month, and it’s just me and an 8-year-old child in my house,” NV Power buyer Dantiaja Almanzar mentioned. “I don’t understand how my bill is so much. I’m working and he’s at school half the day, so they overcharge a lot.”

The corporate disclosed that greater than 42,000 multifamily residences, flats, condos, and townhomes had been mistakenly billed as single-family houses.
