'You took my life away:' Las Vegas mother distraught after son killed driving e-scooter

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The mom of a 10-year-old killed whereas driving an e-scooter mentioned she’s extraordinarily distraught over her son’s demise and is pissed off over the police investigation.

Portia Wales recognized Marquis Abraham because the passenger in an e-scooter that was hit by a pickup truck on Thursday on the intersection of Butternut and Charnut lanes close to Owens Avenue and Pecos Street.

“If I had super body glue, I could’ve stuck him to my side. He was a momma’s boy. He called my name and didn’t want nothing. I need justice for my son,” Wales mentioned. “That wasn’t an accident; she was impatient. How [police] start off by calling me, ‘oh he didn’t have a helmet.'” 

The 9-year-old working the e-scooter was taken to the hospital with minor accidents, in line with LVMPD.
