LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Federal officers are investigating the invention of greater than 100 piles of cremated human stays left close to a mud highway about an hour outdoors of Las Vegas.

The 8 Information Now Investigators first reported the invention on Monday. The one that discovered the ashes, who later contacted 8 Information Now, stated he chanced on the piles on July 28 in a desert space outdoors of Searchlight.

Searchlight is a rural group about an hour south of the Las Vegas valley off U.S. 95. 

An official with BLM confirms to the 8 Information Now Investigators that the piles are human cremains and that the division was actively investigating. “Cremains,” the phrase the official supplied, is a phrase for human cremated stays.

The stays on Wednesday appeared weathered from the rain and solar.

A consultant for the Clark County coroner’s workplace stated they weren’t concerned within the investigation because the land falls below federal jurisdiction.
