LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) – The continuing situation of drivers and pedestrians has landed – – within the humorous papers.
Cartoonist Stephan Pastis began a current “Pearls Before Swine” comedian with the character “Rat” speaking to “Goat” a few “memo to pedestrians of the world.”
Rat says:
“If I stop my car in the middle of the street so you, Mr. Pedestrian, can cross . . . ”
A bullhorn seems from nowhere as Rat screams:
“Can you at least not saunter??”
As he tumbles backward, blown-away Goat suggests:
“Possibly simply present some endurance.”
The strip concludes with a vibe that actual life pedestrians can really feel from actual life drivers:
“I do – by not runing them over.”
Nicely executed, Mr Pastis.
The dialog continues.
Buckle up, drive fastidiously – and, please put down that telephone!
