Trout Canyon Hearth west of Las Vegas at 30 acres; residents allowed to return to properties

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Residents within the Trout Canyon space west of Las Vegas are being allowed to return to their properties as crews work to place out a 30-acre hearth.

The hearth within the Humboldt-Toiyabe Nationwide Forest was first noticed on Sunday afternoon. On the map, it is situated south of Mt. Charleston, accessible by way of roads from SR 160 between Las Vegas and Pahrump.

Crews are anticipated to stay on scene over the subsequent couple of days. On Monday, water tenders from the Clark County Hearth Division and Pahrump Valley Hearth & Rescue have been supplying a helicopter dip website to help the U.S. Forest Service response.
