Senate Majority Chief John Thune (R-S.D.) endorsed Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa), a third-term member of the Home, giving her leg up within the race to switch retiring Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa).

“We need conservative fighters in the Senate — and that’s exactly what we’ll get with Ashley Hinson,” Thune mentioned in a press release. “Ashley has been a fierce advocate of President Trump’s America First agenda and has been instrumental in delivering big wins in the House for Iowans and the American people. I know that she’ll bring with her to the Senate that same unrelenting energy. Ashley has my full support and endorsement.”

Nationwide Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Tim Scott (R-S.C.) can also be endorsing Hinson, who was first elected to the Home in 2020.

Alex Latcham, the manager director of the Senate Management Fund, a Senate GOP-allied fundraising group, praised Hinson and mentioned the group would be part of Thune in backing Hinson.

“Ashley Hinson is a strong fighter for Iowa, working tirelessly to lower costs for families, stand for our farmers, and secure our borders. Hinson has an unmatched fundraising ability and a history of winning tough campaigns. With Ashley’s energy, experience, and vision, SLF proudly joins Leader John Thune and many others in supporting Ashley Hinson as Iowa’s next U.S. senator.”

Hinson is operating towards former state Sen. Jim Carlin, who challenged Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) within the 2022 GOP main, for the social gathering’s nomination to succeed Ernst.

Hinson reported elevating $854,000 in her second quarter fundraising report, giving her greater than $2.8 million in money available she will be able to use for a Senate race.
