LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Spring Valley resident’s apartment was sufferer to an unintentional candle fireplace in Could of 2023. She has now filed a lawsuit in opposition to each her HOA and contractor, claiming that two years later, they nonetheless haven’t totally accomplished repairs.

“There’s certainly a negligence issue here,” lawyer Timothy Treffinger stated. “I’ve never seen something this egregious where someone’s out of their home for two years and still paying HOA fees.”
In keeping with Tami, she pays roughly $300 a month in HOA charges, along with now paying hire elsewhere as she waits for her apartment repairs to be accomplished. She stated the HOA continues to inform her it’s nearly carried out.
“Is your lawyer lying to you or is the contractor lying to you when they tell you my place is 80% done,” Tami stated. “This is not 80% done.”

Treffinger stated he’s already had conferences with the contractor, SR Builders.
“He showed us documentation with notes of where the money had gone. We’ve made numerous requests for that, and he won’t turn the paperwork over,” Treffinger stated.
When requested what repairs have been made for the reason that fireplace, Tami stated the drywall, insulation, electrical, and the hearth crew’s harm have been repaired.
Troy Isaacson, lawyer for the Flamingo Heights HOA, emailed a press release to eight Information Now saying, “The affiliation is by no means the impediment to the completion of repairs to the unit.”
Isaacson continued, “It is my understanding that all portions of the building the association is responsible for have been fully reconstructed.”
