The Lone Star Liberty PAC, a gaggle supporting Texas Lawyer Normal Ken Paxton’s (R) Senate run, rolled out an advert touting Paxton’s position within the state’s redistricting battle on Friday.
The digital spot, titled “Ken Paxton puts Democrats on notice in Texas redistricting fight,” is a compilation of mainstream media protection of the state’s redistricting saga and Paxton’s response, and conservative media figures praising the state lawyer common. It wraps with {a photograph} of Paxton posing with President Trump, who has but to endorse in Paxton’s main battle in opposition to Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).
The Hill was the primary outlet to view the advert.
The spot comes after Cornyn introduced on Thursday that FBI Director Kash Patel authorised his request to assist state and native legislation enforcement in finding the Texas Democrats who left the state with the aim of stalling a partisan redistricting effort.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) stated in a put up on X on Thursday that the FBI was “tracking down” the Democratic lawmakers.
Paxton initially criticized Cornyn’s name for the FBI to intervene on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast on Tuesday, saying it was “purely a state issue.”
Nevertheless, Paxton later stated in an announcement to The Hill that he was open to the FBI getting concerned within the redistricting battle.
“I’m in full support of using every possible method to secure a quorum and hold lawless Democrat legislators accountable for abandoning Texans, including involving federal authorities and the FBI,” Paxton stated.
Paxton introduced Tuesday he would search judicial orders “declaring that runaway Democrats who fail to appear by the Speaker’s deadline have vacated their office.”
“The people of Texas elected lawmakers, not jet-setting runaways looking for headlines. If you don’t show up to work, you get fired,” Paxton stated.
Moreover, Paxton introduced that he was investigating whether or not former Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s (D-Texas) political group is breaking legal guidelines by allegedly “bankrolling” the state Democratic lawmakers out-of-state journey.
