Lt. Lee mentioned pace has performed a significant function in deadly crashes, particularly alongside busy corridors like Craig Street and Ferrell Avenue.
“[That] has been historically one of our busier intersections. On Craig Road, the speed limit is 45 mph, and typically, motorists drive 10 to 15, sometimes 20 mph over the speed limit,” Lt. Lee mentioned.
There have been 16 pedestrian fatalities in Clark County, together with two in North Las Vegas, to this point this 12 months.
Police made two DUI arrests within the morning earlier than the “Leprechaun in the Crosswalk” initiative. Throughout the initiative, 74 stops had been made, 72 citations got, 17 warnings got and 1 arrest.
