LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Nevada Division of Transportation has acquired a $16.8 million grant to guard the Mojave Desert tortoise and enhance motorist security.

NDOT goals to assemble 61 wildlife crossings and set up 68 miles of exclusionary fencing alongside U.S. Freeway 93 in Southern Nevada.
