Mills introduces ‘DON-ument’ invoice to make border wall a nationwide monument

Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) on Wednesday launched a invoice to make the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border a nationwide monument, dubbing it the “DON-ument Act” in a nod to President Trump.

The “Southern Border Wall National Monument,” the invoice states, can be established in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas to “protect the southern border wall from alteration.”

“I’m proud to introduce THE DON-ument Act, a tribute to President Trump’s commitment to securing our southern border and protecting America’s sovereignty,” Mills mentioned in an announcement. 

“This Southern Border Wall National Monument, spanning California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, stands as a powerful symbol of our mission to stop illegal crossings and defend our nation’s interests. By enshrining the wall alongside historic sites like The Statue of Liberty and Fort McHenry, we honor the America First principles that keep our communities safe and strong,” Mills mentioned.

The invoice provides to many Trump-flattery payments launched by Home Republicans this yr.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) proposed carving Trump into Mount Rushmore; Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) proposed making Trump’s birthday a nationwide vacation; and Rep. Addison McDowell (R-N.C.) launched a invoice to rename Dulles Airport to Donald J. Trump Worldwide Airport.
