McMahon says Harvard is just not eligible for brand spanking new federal analysis grants

Training Secretary Linda McMahon despatched a letter to Harvard on Monday telling the college it should now not be eligible for brand spanking new analysis grants from the federal government because it and the Trump administration do battle on a number of fronts.

The Ivy League college will now not be eligible for brand spanking new grants till it may “demonstrate responsible management,” a senior Training Division official stated on a name with reporters.  

“It’ll explain that public confidence in higher education as a sector is at an all time low, and that’s really because of all the essential terrible behavior at institutions like Harvard,” the official stated.

This transfer is simply the most recent growth within the Trump administration’s struggle in opposition to Harvard.  

The federal authorities has already opened up investigations into the varsity’s overseas donations and claims the Harvard Regulation Evaluation is engaged in race-based discrimination, with one editor reportedly allegedly saying “a piece should be subject to expedited review because the author was a minority.” 

President Trump has referred to as for the IRS to revoke the varsity’s tax-exempt standing, and Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem has stated the division could take away Harvard’s means to confess overseas college students. 

The most important tipping level occurred when Harvard sued the Trump administration after it paused $2 billion in federal funding. 

The Trump administration took away the funding after the school refused to cave to its calls for to alter its admission and hiring practices, together with eliminating variety, fairness and inclusion applications.
