Man in custody 23 years after Las Vegas homicide

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person is in custody on accusations he murdered one other man in Las Vegas 23 years in the past, the 8 Information Now Investigators have discovered.

Martin Gutierrez, 62, faces a cost of first-degree homicide for the 2002 dying of John Hernandez, 33. Hernandez was shot and killed on Jan. 19, 2002, officers mentioned.

Police in Texas arrested Gutierrez earlier this month, discovering a warrant was lively for his arrest, officers mentioned. Prosecutors filed a warrant for Gutierrez’s arrest in 2007.

It was not instantly clear what led police to Gutierrez.

In courtroom, Las Vegas Justice Courtroom Decide Daniel Westmeyer denied setting bail because of the homicide cost, information mentioned. On Monday, Gutierrez pleaded not responsible. A preliminary listening to was scheduled for Could 15.
