Man arrested for capturing, killing canine in east Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person faces expenses after police mentioned he shot and killed a canine within the east Las Vegas valley.

On April 23, at round 11:15 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Division recieved a report of a canine shot within the 6000 block of Halehaven Drive, close to East Bonanza Street and North Sloan Lane.

Arriving officers discovered a person, later recognized as Kevin Hoskins, 34, standing on the street. Police mentioned the canine was lifeless from obvious gunshot wounds inside a kennel inside the home.

Hoskins was taken into custody and animal cruelty detectives responded to the scene.

By means of investigation, detectives discovered that Hoskins was “upset” with the canine and made threats that he was going to kill it.
