New York Legal professional Basic Letitia James (D) signaled Thursday that she intends to problem the appointment of a prosecutor handpicked by President Trump to hunt prices in opposition to his foes in a bid to throw out her mortgage fraud case.

In a two-page court docket submitting, James’s attorneys notified the federal choose overseeing the case that they plan to formally ask him to dismiss the fees Friday on the idea that interim U.S. Legal professional Lindsey Halligan was unlawfully put in.

“In the interest of efficiency and to avoid any unnecessary delay, particularly if this Court must designate this motion to an out-of-district judge, Attorney General James files the instant Notice to formally alert the Court,” the submitting reads.

James’s movement comes after one other Trump adversary, former FBI Director James Comey, moved to have his prices dismissed over Halligan’s appointment earlier this week.

A former White Home aide, Halligan was tapped by President Trump to take over the U.S. lawyer position after her predecessor expressed reservations about Comey’s case and finally resigned.
