Las Vegas trainer accused of injuring scholar in playground struggle

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A trainer’s assistant allegedly bodily fought with a baby, leaving him with bruises, based on paperwork the 8 Information Now Investigators obtained.

Alicia Fletcher, 31, faces fees of tried little one abuse or neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and battery, information stated.

Fletcher was employed with the district since July 2024 as a specialised trainer assistant, final assigned to Crimson Rock Elementary Faculty, the district stated after her arrest. The college is situated close to Alta Drive and Jones Boulevard.

On Thursday, April 24, a scholar on the college reported to an worker that Fletcher allegedly injured him on the playground, inflicting bruising to his eye, paperwork stated.

Fletcher later informed officers she and the coed “were throwing ‘rocks’ at each other and then things escalated after [the student] became angry,” paperwork stated.

The coed and Fletcher then began bodily preventing, based on police.

Video surveillance confirmed Fletcher and the coed throwing “pebbles” at one another after which “struggling back and forth,” paperwork stated. At one level, the video confirmed “Fletcher [using] her legs to hold him down and appeared to kick [him],” paperwork stated.

Clark County Faculty District police arrested Fletcher on the college for an incident the day earlier than.

Per the negotiated settlement with the bargaining unit, she will likely be positioned on unpaid depart.

Fletcher posted a surety bond and was because of return to court docket in June.
