LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – In a collaboration geared toward empowering youth and selling inclusivity in sports activities, the Las Vegas Raiders have partnered with the Clark County Faculty District to broaden and improve flag soccer packages throughout Southern Nevada.
The initiative underscores the Raiders’ dedication to neighborhood engagement and the event of younger athletes.
By offering assets, mentorship, and publicity, the partnership seeks to foster a love for the sport and instill precious life abilities amongst college students.
“It’s really fun, it teaches you better techniques, makes you pay attention, and teaches you about leadership,” Alijah Powell, Sig Rogich pupil athlete.
Flag soccer has seen a surge in recognition inside CCSD and the state of Nevada. Since its introduction over a decade in the past, participation has almost tripled.
The Raiders’ involvement has been pivotal on this progress. By way of monetary help, gear donations, and internet hosting occasions, they’ve supplied platforms for younger athletes to showcase their abilities and pursue their desires.
“Flag football is our biggest tryout. We have about 120 to 140 kids trying out every year for our team. It seems to be getting bigger and bigger each year, I mean the kids love it,” Sig Rogich Athletic Director Ernie Domanico stated.
As a part of the partnership, the Raiders are investing $100,000 into the flag soccer program. Every collaborating faculty will obtain Raiders-branded flag belts, flag soccer gear kits, Raider attire, and extra activations, together with gameday recognition.
