Clark County’s Workplace of Emergency Administration mentioned it’s organizing a strike crew after receiving a request for assist from the state of California Wednesday morning. Engines and personnel from Las Vegas valley hearth departments left for California on Wednesday afternoon.
“Those winds that we are seeing on TV right now, those fires are almost impossible to really contain,” Clark County Chief John Steinbeck mentioned. “From what you’ve seen and what I’ve seen, is they need firefighters down there.”
As many as 25 firefighters from Clark County Hearth Division, Las Vegas Hearth and Rescue, and Henderson Hearth Division traveled to California on 5 vans.
In the course of the rescue deployment, the crew will help with issues comparable to structural safety, evacuation efforts, and EMS calls.
Chief Steinbeck added that the crew’s prime precedence will probably be relieving crews which were working across the clock.
“They are exhausted, they are working tirelessly down there in hard conditions, and it’s even harder when it could be your neighbors or your homes,” he added.
