LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Clark County College District music instructor was honored with one of many state’s highest schooling awards throughout a shock ceremony on Wednesday.
Alexandra Snabon-Jun, who teaches at Tyrone Thompson Elementary College in Las Vegas, was named the 2026 Nevada State Instructor of the Yr. Jun, who has taught in Nevada for over 20 years, will characterize the Silver State within the Nationwide Instructor of the Yr program.
Jun is the only real music instructor for greater than 900 youngsters at Tyrone Thompson Elementary. She leads two choirs, produces musicals, and teaches a wide-ranging curriculum together with percussion, ukulele, recorders, and dance.
“When I think of Ali Jun, two adjectives come to mind, which are passionate and fun for kids,” Robert Hinchliffe, Principal of Tyrone Thompson Elementary School, said. “She makes every lesson incredibly engaging in many ways, and is beloved by both students and parents within our community. She has built our music and choir program from the ground up, and her devotion to this field is unparalleled.”
Clark County Superintendent Jhone Ebert known as Jun a “rockstar” whose every day power conjures up college students to excel.
“Every day, her ardour for educating and educating college students is clear as she conjures up college students to be their absolute best. She epitomizes what it means to make CCSD the Vacation spot District,” Ebert stated.
The Nevada State Instructor of the Yr program, facilitated by the Council of Chief State College Officers, celebrates educators who reveal excellence in and outdoors the classroom. In 2021, Nevada’s Juliana Urtubey was acknowledged because the Nationwide Instructor of the Yr.
