Las Vegas meals banks feeling pressure of lapse in SNAP funding

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With almost half 1,000,000 Nevadans counting on SNAP advantages, these recipients at the moment are lining up at meals banks and distribution facilities for meals.

“We need the Democratic senators to make the decision to reopen the government,” Gov. Lombardo stated. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D), Nevada, has voted repeatedly for a Home-passed invoice to fund the federal government by way of Nov. 21. 

Cortez Masto’s colleague, Sen. Jacky Rosen (D), has not voted to reopen the federal government. 

Gov. Lombardo final week authorised nearly $40 million in funding to go to meals banks. Nevada usually will get $90 million a month from the federal authorities for SNAP advantages.
