Las Vegas locals recall Tubbs Fireplace amid California devastation

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As fires devastated southern California, a household from Las Vegas recalled their expertise with a lethal California blaze.

Jack and Janet Reisner remembered the scent of smoke on that early 2017 morning that may change their lives ceaselessly.

“We were woken up out of a dead sleep,” mentioned Janet.

“A ball of flame came over, landed in the banana tree, and it exploded into flame,” recalled Jack, including that it was then that he decided it was time to depart the home. “We didn’t take anything because we didn’t think about taking anything. We had five minutes.”

“We took our dogs,” Janet added.

The raging devastation of California’s new wildfires has sparked Janet and Jack’s reminiscences and sympathy for its victims, lots of whom have been left with nothing.

“We knew what they were feeling,” Janet mentioned. “Whether they had a lot of money or no money, they all lost everything.”
