Las Vegas launches electrical double-decker buses on Strip

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — From London to Las Vegas, there’s a brand new attraction on the town impressed by the world-famous buses throughout the pond. It isn’t only for sightseeing — they’re constructed for comfort too.

World-famous double-decker buses are rolling into Las Vegas, and one has already made its debut on the strip. 

“You consider double-decker buses in London, however now we’re going to have them up and down the Strip, throughout the valley, taking vacationers to enjoyable spots, taking individuals to work,” Democratic Rep. Dina Titus said. “I couldn’t be extra proud.”

The Regional Transportation Committee of Southern Nevada (RTC), in partnership with Alexander Dennis, the nation’s solely double-decker bus producer, is bringing the long-lasting automobiles to the valley for each guests and locals.

“It’s really exciting because we’re seeing an international company that’s found a home right here in Southern Nevada building buses like this that will be moving people throughout our valley here,” North Las Vegas Metropolis Councilman Isaac Barron, who represents Ward 1, mentioned.

They’re not simply two-stories—they’re all electrical.       

“They will not have emissions out there in the atmosphere, and they’ll be able to travel distances,” North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown mentioned. “It’s just a good way to move people from place to place, and it’s actually right here in our backyard.”

Proper now, employees are constructing 10 new double-decker buses for the RTC. Each single double-decker might be made in Las Vegas earlier than making its approach to cities everywhere in the nation. 

“This is a facility that’s building buses that are not just going to be used here, they’re going to be explored all over the world,” Barron mentioned. “They’re bringing jobs and some much-needed revenue to our city. Here in the city of North Las Vegas, we’re trying to build a firewall that is not dependent on tourism,” mentioned Barron. 

“Las Vegas is very resilient, and we keep changing, we keep adapting, always adding something new, and I think this will be an attraction in and of itself,” Titus mentioned.

The primary bus is already up and working on the Strip, with extra anticipated to hit the street quickly. Day passes are $8 for guests and $5 for locals.
