She’s helped lead the varsity’s multicultural membership by making a optimistic outlook, breaking racial limitations, and internet hosting plenty of occasions together with, meals tasting and panel audio system.
“With these events, our main goal is to try to show our students that there are people from every race, every culture that do succeed in these fields,” Lemma said.
Lemma grew up in Ethiopia for the primary six years of her childhood. In 2023, she traveled again to Ethiopia and interned on the Nationwide Institute of Schooling and bought concerned within the Increased Schooling Readiness (HER) program by serving to younger ladies in rural Ethiopia pursue increased schooling.
“The HER program focuses on providing these girls supplies such as school books, mentors and teachers where they can go to school on a regular basis and be stable,” Lemma defined.
She plans to attend the College of Toronto and research environmental chemistry and assist enhance drought circumstances in different international locations.
“My main goal in environmental chemistry is to find a way where we can combine modern technology with what we already do have with Indigenous practices that have been working in the past to create ways that these people in these harder situations survive in a more economically friendly way,” Lemma added.
Lemma stated specializing in her objectives and with the ability to assist others has pushed her to be higher daily.
“It does make me proud that I’m getting one step closer each time I move on in my education,” beamed Lemma.
