Las Vegas e-bike store proprietor launches rider security program

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – As e-bike and scooter reputation grows throughout the Las Vegas valley, so does the variety of fatalities involving riders.

WheelZen Rides proprietor Joe Cantalicio stated he has taken it upon himself to implement some change locally. 

After being within the electrical scooter and bike enterprise for years, he’s involved for these using round city, as there was a gentle move of electrical bike and scooter crashes in latest months.

Cantalicio has created “Time and Place,” a free program he plans to have at his store to coach and preserve riders protected.

“There’s a time and a place to do wheelies and tricks, but the middle of the street where a million cars go by each day is not it,” Cantalicio instructed 8 Information Now.

“With everything going on, there are a lot of accidents out there and a lot of people don’t know what the proper safety equipment is,” he added.

Conventional bike helmets will not do, with e-bikes and scooters, it is necessary to put on these specialised helmets for cover.

“Kids unfortunately don’t know anything about making chain adjustments, tire, pressure, checking the nuts and bolts for their axles. Those things are vital when you’re on a two-wheel vehicle,” he stated.

Clients like Lashan Cortez, who has two grandsons that experience, stated she’s on board with the thought of courses.

“I would love to bring them to the safety class so they could learn and get educated on some things. I do worry about them when they go out on their own because they won’t always wear helmets,” Cortez instructed 8 Information Now.

Cantalicio, is raring to get began, with plans of getting the “Time and Place” class at his store in Might and opening it as much as the general public.

“Even if one kid understands the advice that we’re giving them, that’s already one more person we have saved from a future catastrophe,” Cantalicio stated.
