LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Democratic Minority Chief of the U.S. Home of Representatives Hakeem Jeffries of New York was welcomed to Nevada on Monday for a neighborhood assembly about restoring and increasing healthcare and securing Nevada’s power and financial future.

Nevada Democratic Congressman Steven Horsford welcomed Jeffries on the neighborhood assembly.

Horsford spoke to eight Information Now after the assembly concerning the latest drop in Canadian vacationers to Las Vegas. Horsford cited President Trump’s tariffs on Canada, arguing that the dip in vacationers impacts companies throughout Southern Nevada.

In July, the president raised the tariff price on U.S. imports from Canada from 25% to 35%. Trump argued that Canada did not do extra to cease medication and criminals on the northern border.
