Florida congresswoman to plead not responsible to costs of stealing $5M

Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-Fla.) will plead not responsible Monday to federal costs of conspiring to steal $5 million in federal catastrophe funds amid the COVID-19 pandemic and funneling a few of it into her congressional marketing campaign.   Her lawyer, William Barzee, notified the courtroom on its docket of the Florida congresswoman’s plea and that she would waive her look at an arraignment set for Tuesday.
