Firefighters examine blaze that destroyed vacant residence in southeast Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A fireplace that tore by an deserted residence Friday morning is below investigation.

The blaze was reported round 8:30 a.m. within the 2600 block of E. Heat Springs Highway, east of Jap Avenue.

In keeping with the Clark County Fireplace Division, fireplace crews arrived on the scene in six minutes and located the house totally engulfed in flames. It took about 20 minutes to extinguish the hearth, and no accidents had been reported.

CCFD estimates the injury to be between $100,000 to $250,000.
